The name is derived from the Late Latin male name, Caelestinus, meaning, “of the sky; of the heavens.”

  3. So sorry. I didn’t elaborate. I am in the midst of legally changing my name. Unfortunately I don’t live in California, where you can have like 30 names, which I could soo come up with. In Mass, we can only have 16 characters for; first, middle, last, boo, not fair. But I am Still looking for that “from Heaven” name, thought I had settled on “Leia”, but this one is quite Lovely. Takes up many spaces….as a third first name that is. Thank you for the in depth showing of other versions, I recently DID hear that Coeli is a form of “sent from Heaven”, on a Wiki page that was titled “Chailey”. I LOVE your website! It’s so Thorough, unbelievably so, and I never tire of reading it 🙂
